Ball Hockey: Hamilton & Spine & Sport Win
The Bermuda ball hockey league returned to action with a pair of high-scoring games at the PCC Hockey Rink. Hamilton Princess edged ACT 5-4 in a shootout thriller, while Spine & Sport cruised to a 7-3 victory over Appleby.
Hamilton Princess 5, ACT 4 [SO]
Hamilton Princess and ACT played a scoreless first period before trading goals in the second. Mathew Katzsch scored for Hamilton Princess, while Jake Fenske and Mike Travis tallied for ACT.
ACT took a 4-2 lead in the third period on goals by Travis and Townie Jackson. However, Hamilton Princess rallied to tie the game on goals by Matthew Benson and Katzsch, forcing overtime.
After a scoreless overtime period, Jeff Ingelman scored the winning goal in a shootout to give Hamilton Princess the victory.
Spine & Sport 7, Appleby 3
Spine & Sport dominated the second game of the doubleheader, led by Ross Rufiage’s four goals. Jeremy Estey, Ryan Marshall, and Jake Goldberg also scored for Spine & Sport.
