Netball: Phoenix, Storm, NVCC & Tigers Win
Phoenix Embers, Storm Thunder, Phoenix Fire, NVCC, Storm NexGen, and Tigers were all victorious in recent Bermuda Winter League netball action.
13&U Division
Phoenix Embers defeated Dandy Stars 10-0. Quin Burgess scored nine goals for the Embers and Zanna Jones added one. Kenzie McCrary was named the Embers MVP, while Naiah Rayner was the MVP for the Dandy Stars.
In the second match, Storm Thunder secured a 14-13 victory over NVCC. Tamirra Richardson led Storm Thunder with 10 goals, Honor White had two, and Elsie Purcell added one. Richardson was also named the team’s MVP. For NVCC, Taylor Kyme scored eight goals and Sanaa Hodsoll scored five. Tiana Scott was the NVCC MVP.
16&U Division
Phoenix Fire defeated Dandy Stars 45-3. Caillia Joell led the Fire with 24 goals, A’Meerah Richardson-Swan scored nine, Shiloh Simmons had eight, and Zyari Lawrence added four. A’Meerah Richardson-Swan was the Fire’s MVP. For the Dandy Stars, Jaeda Morgan-Dill scored two goals and Izzy Hassell had one. Morgan-Dill was named the team’s MVP.
NVCC earned a 21-19 win against Storm. E’Rynn Paynter scored 18 points for NVCC and S’mai Tyrell scored three. The team’s MVP was Kse Jennings. Storm’s goals came from Sah-Quirity Warner with 13, Journee Belboda with four, and Nala Richardson with two. Tjaia Butter was named the Storm MVP.
First Division
Storm NexGen won 25-11 against DC Diamonds. Jamir Hatherley scored 16 goals for Storm, with Malaysia Furbert adding seven and J’Zari Zuill-Dillas scoring two. Hatherley was also named the team MVP. For DC Diamonds, Cindi-Anna Darrell scored six, Sioma Rudo scored three, and Saajida Daniels added two. The MVP for the Diamonds was Naseeha Talbot.
The match between HPSP and Atlantic Aces was postponed.
Premier Division
Tigers defeated Phoenix Heat 35-17. Jahkenya Trott led the Tigers with 18 goals, Jahtuere Trott scored 13, and Diara Benjamin added four. Brianna Ray was named the Tigers’ MVP. For Phoenix Heat, Keizhari Knight scored 12 goals and K’Xiyae Gibbons scored five. Kiante Lightbourne was the MVP for the Heat.
The match between St. George’s and NVCC was postponed.
10&U Division
The 10&U Division games between Dandy Stars and Phoenix Sparks, and between NVCC and Storm, were postponed.
