Multiple Sclerosis Society Symposium In March 7
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Bermuda today announced its plans for its 2026 Medical Symposium.
A spokesperson said, “On Saturday, March 7th, 2026, the Society will hold its next Medical Symposium at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI]. The event is aimed at medical professionals, the general public and those individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis to help increase understanding of what it’s like to live with this chronic illness and how best to provide support.
“The one-day, two-part schedule will run as follows:
- 8:00 am – 8:45 am – Medical professionals’ registration
- 9:00 am – 12:30 pm – Medical professionals’ sessions
- 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm – General public sessions
“The afternoon session will be opened by The Minister of Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinee Furbert, JP, MP, MSc, OTR, C/NDT, ATS, CDME.

“Yosbelkys Martin Paez, M.D., Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Neurology, Neuro-ophthalmology Services, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology -Tufts Medical Center/NEEC
“Laura Safar, M.D., Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Vice Chair, Psychiatry & Behavioural Medicine, LHMC Program Director, Lahey Psychiatry Residency Program
“Jeffrey Bennett, MD, PhD, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Gertrude Gilden Professor, Vice Chair, Basic Research, Neurology, Departments of Neurology & Ophthalmology, Programs in Neuroscience & Immunology.”
“The Society is delighted to welcome this outstanding group of professionals to Bermuda to share their expertise,” said Society President Carolyn Armstrong. “We look forward to welcoming all of those interested in learning more about Multiple Sclerosis, and how we can better support a number of our residents who face the daily challenges that living with it brings. We look forward to seeing you there,” said Armstrong.
