Bermudian cyclist Robin Horsfield placed 34th out of 384 riders in the 110-kilometre Paris to Ancaster Cento, competing against a strong field of national champions, World Cup athletes and professional cyclists.

A spokesperson said, “Bermudian cyclist Robin Horsfield showed the breadth of his cycling ability today, stepping off his mountain bike to compete in the 110-kilometre Paris to Ancaster [P2A] Cento — widely regarded as Canada’s Spring Cycling Classic. Horsfield finished 34th from a field of 384 riders, competing alongside national champions, World Cup riders, and professional cyclists.

“Inspired by the legendary Paris-Roubaix, the Paris to Ancaster race has been held annually since 1994 and is one of the longest-running and most prestigious cycling events in North America. The P2A Cento, the race’s flagship distance, covers a demanding patchwork of gravel roads, farm lanes, trails, and notorious mud sections for an uphill escarpment finish at Paris, Ontario.

“Horsfield is primarily known as a mountain biker, and is an eight-time Bermudian National Mountain Bike Champion, most recently racing on island in March to once again win the title in typical undisputed fashion. He is also a two-time provincial champion in Ontario, holding titles in Mountain Bike [2024] and Cyclocross [2025].

“Paris to Ancaster is an open mass-participation event — not a closed professional race — yet its field routinely attracts national champions and World Cup-level riders alongside thousands of amateur cyclists. Horsfield’s finish among the top ten percent, competing in a road-style discipline well outside his primary specialty, is a compelling demonstration that his ability beyond the mountain bike shouldn’t be ignored.

“He now returns to his mountain bike season, with upcoming events in the Continental Series in Wisconsin and the Canada Cup series in Quebec.”
