The Bermuda Police Service has recognised Constable Sean Wheatley’s retirement after 25 years of dedicated service.

A police spokesperson said, “This past Monday [17th August 2026], Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons and his Senior Leadership Team recognised the retirement of Constable Sean Wheatley, after 25 years’ service.

“Constable Wheatley joined the Bermuda Police Service in 2001 as a Police Cadet and immediately made a positive impression as a keen student officer.

“With his family in attendance at Monday’s gathering, colleagues in the room highlighted that he spent the majority of his Bermuda Police Service career as a Constable in the Marine Unit, where he proved reliable and quite capable.

“Constable Wheatley also spent time in the Community Policing Division, most recently as a Tutor Constable, giving back by sharing his wisdom and experience with one of our newest officers.

“Known for his professionalism, Constable Wheatley said he would not change anything about his policing career, but is ready for a new challenge and the opportunity to spend more time with his family.

“Thank you for your service Constable Wheatley!

“We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”
