Ship Detours Due to Injured Crew Member
Last week the Swiss Registered Cargo Vessel SCL Bern [pictured] detoured to Bermuda to obtain medical care for a crew member who sustained a broken arm due to an accident with a metallic door.
Bermuda Radio received an e-mail from the crew of the ship, which was located 620 nautical miles south east of Bermuda, advising of the injured crew member, and arrived at the Sea Buoy on Thursday [Feb.24
The patient was transferred to the Pilot/Rescue Boat St George and was taken ashore, and on to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.
