Videos: Fire Service Responds: Par-La-Ville Rd
[Updated] Emergency personnel have blocked off Par-La-Ville Road, after the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service responded to a report of a fire at the Little Venice restaurant in Hamilton this afternoon [May 17]. The building was evacuated, smoke can be seen coming from what appears to be the area of a back doorway, while firefighters are in the building wearing breathing apparatus.
A Fire Service spokesperson said, “At 12.59 this afternoon BFRS 911 Dispatch received a call reporting a fire in the basement of the Little Venice restaurant on Bermudiana Road, Hamilton. BFRS responded with 4 vehicles and 9 personnel. First fire appliance arrived on scene at 1.04pm to find smoke issuing from the kitchen of the restaurant.”
“BELCO was called to the incident to shut off power to the restaurant. After which 2 firefighters entered in breathing apparatus and fully extinguished the blaze at approximately 1 48pm. Ventilation was then used to remove smoke from the area. There were no reported injuries and the matter is under investigation.”

My sauce tells me it was a dispute over represenation with the BIU and things got heated and a lot of steam was let loose. Could not have been a “grease fire”. Only grease in this place is in the palms………
