  2. Pray for our Youth says:

this is the second child to go missing over the weekend: a repeat offender and one who refuses to return home. we really need to reach out to our young people, there’s obviously something going on with them that they may need to express but don’t know how.

  3. Lou says:

We need to take this as serious as an amber alert in the US. How can we promote this nationally?

If anyone of Jahtwons friends read this tell him that I (don’t have to leave my name because he will know)would like to speak to him and give him this message…Jahtwon we had a pretty good school year..a bit rocky at times but we always managed to work things out..the last few months of school we had lots of “one on one” sessions. For the most part I found you to be respectful towards me…you were in an environment with structure and rules and guidance.. a place where you needed to be..I know that you are on your summer break and you may feel the need to run all “willy nilly” and free up..yes as I’ve told you over and over that it is okay to have fun! But rules are put into place for a reason, They are not put in place to spoil your fun, they are put in place with your safety and well being in mind..Jahtwon you know “how I roll” so it won’t be hard for me to track you down…I hope that one of your friends read this and can tell you that I am concerned about you and it is also my hope that the sessions and talks we had will trigger something in your mind and that you will have a “lightbulb” moment and do the right thing…….

As a parent of a young boy i am trying to have some compassion for the situation but this really bothers me. How can a 13yr old leave the home and not come back for days at a time. WHERE ARE THE PARENTS? As parents we need to keep the lines of communication all the way open. Be there when your young boys need you. We are not perfect parenting is not the easiest job to do but i mean this is just outragious. Don’t be afraid of your children,it really seems like the young people in bermuda are running there homes, not the parents. It’s ok to say NO your not the bad guys. This young men is clearly running away from something that is going on at home. As parents we need to find out what is going on before it gets to this point. I do hope this young man returns home safe and in 1 piece.

  6. The Root says:

We need to look at the home of some of these children. Not saying that they all have bad or negative homes but what are they running from? What are they not receiving at home that they need to look elsewhere for. Is it another case of mom and dad not in the home because they have to constantly work to support the family, are these youngsters left alone to fend for themselves, might they be running from abusive family members. I hope that when reports like this come out they take time to evaluate the home life. And as stated before, I know this isn’t for every case, yes we do have some kids who come from a good homes and for whatever reason do the same thing. I pray that he is safe and if he needs help that he goes to the right person.

  8. I am me says:

I pray for the safe return of both children, I’m a parent myself so I can only imagine what these mothers must be going through, I have never been put in this postion but and lets remember not to judge as we do not know the circumstances of these childrens life dynamics

  9. Late worker says:

Careful with the assumptions – may be more a matter of running to than running from.
Glad he is safe. Hug them tight tonight, all!
