City To Host Public Ceremony For New Officials

June 21, 2012

The City of Hamilton and the newly elected Board Members will participate in and host a public inaugural Installation Ceremony on JUne 25th in front of City Hall.

Mayor of Hamilton Graeme Outerbridge stated, “Together with the Board of the City of Hamilton, I am pleased to provide details of the inaugural Installation Ceremony. The day after the Municipal election, there was a brief and simple swearing event that took place in the Mayor’s Parlour.

“We feel it is extremely important to be able to share the process for taking the oath of public office. To this end, on Monday, June 25, in front of City Hall, we have invited His Excellency the Governor, George Fergusson, the Premier of Bermuda, the Hon. Paula Cox, JP, MP, and members of Bermuda’s clergy to participate in the ceremony.”

Mayor Outerbridge concluded, “We extend an invitation to members of the public to join us, in what we hope will become a City of Hamilton tradition following each Municipal election. The event will start at 12:30pm.”
