Warwick Academy Principal,Maggie McCorkell said that after the record breaking International Baccalaureate results earlier in July, the school has followed up with its best ever IGCSE results with a 100% student pass rate in 8 and more subjects which in each case includes English, mathematics, a science and a humanities subject. Each student sat a minimum of 8 subjects.

Fiona Dobson and Daniel Hetzel [both pictured below] each achieved 9 passes at A*. This is the first time in the school’s history that any students have achieved all A* grades at IGCSE.

Look at this,a realy great story to tell and no one ever wants to coment on it. Put a bad story out there and every body got something to say. Just goes to show the mentality of many.

It’s probably because WA is a private school and most of us would be happier if our public schools could achieve such results. Alas they do have their reputation to advertise so good for them but it just doesn’t feel like a victory we all can/should celebrate. We kind of expect private schools which the majority of us cannot afford to perform better. But despite that, my hat comes off to the kids who worked hard to make that happen. They have done an exceptional job! I’d be more interested in an article about what aspects of these children’s education experience makes such a feat possible and how/if we can implement them in the public school system.
You’re right about how the public is attracted to negativity.
