Concert: Courtney Melody, Admiral Tibet, Half Pint

August 8, 2013

Veterans In Action announced the line-up for their annual November show, with reggae icons Courtney Melody, Admiral Tibet and Half Pint all set to perform on Sunday, November 10th.

The artists will be backed by the Ruff Kut band. The band, based out of New York, will be choreographed by Mr. Derrick Barnett. Mr. Derrick Barnett is best known for orchestrating the annual Reggae Sunsplash event in Jamaica. Musical interludes will be performed by Bermuda’s own Black Star, Magnum Force and Lenky Global. An international MC will introduce the reggae greats.

All of this takes place at CedarBridge Academy’s North Courtyard under a mega tent. Gates open at 8pm and tickets will be $50 in advance. Tickets will be available at Kit N Caboodle, Fish N Tings, People’s Pharmacy, Belvin’s Variety, Somers Supermart and online at BDATix.bm.

This will be Courtney Melody’s first appearance in Bermuda. Half Pint was here over 20 years ago and Admiral Tibet last appeared at the inaugural Veterans In Action in 2005 at No. 1 Shed.

“Veterans In Action’s November show coincides with the Remembrance Day Holiday every year. As we pay homage to those that made sacrifices for our freedom, Veterans In Action celebrates reggae greats whose songs have lasted the test of time and are reggae classics,” the organisers said.

Admiral Tibet’s “Serious Time”:

“Fans can expect the artists to deliver their classic hits with silky smooth delivery. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

“Fresh off their involvement with the One Love, One Life Concert that featured Beres Hammond, Veterans In Action is hoping to once again deliver a quality artistic event for the mature patron.”
