One Half Of HNK Releases New Song

December 7, 2013

One half of the local teen duo HNK has released a new song, a cover of the popular Whitney Houston song I Look to You. The song was recorded by Keenan Bailey, the male half of the duo, in Canada, where he’s currently attending school in order to study studio production at The Centre for Arts and Technology in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Additional vocals were provided by fellow Halifax student Caitlyn Freir.

Hollie Hassell, HNK’s other half, has been singing since she was a little girl, but said she had been too shy to show her material to many people until her cousin Shania Heller arranged a meeting with aspiring performer/songwriter/producer Keenan Bailey earlier this year.

Mr. Bailey, who began taking piano lessons at the age of seven, has been writing songs, poems and stories since childhood and hopes to pursue his production skills in Canada after graduating from Berkeley later this year.
