Free Beginner’s Cricket Umpire Course Offered

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] confirmed that the Bermuda Cricket Umpire’s Association [BCUA] is offering a free Beginner’s Umpire Course. The course will start on Wednesday 11 March and will run every Wednesday for eight weeks at the Bermuda Cricket Board, 6pm-7.30pm.

This course is open to everyone, and you do not need any cricket playing experience to take this course.

The course facilitator is Roger Dill who comes with a wealth of experience including the following highlights from his international resume:

Mr Dill gained international acclaim in May 2006 when he became the first ever Associate Umpire to officiate a game involving a Full Member [Zimbabwe v Canada].

  • Later in 2006 he was invited to umpire an ODI between England and Ireland.
  • Mr Dill umpired for 25 ODI matches including England, West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and 11 ICC Intercontinental Cups [4-day] matches.
  • Mr Dill officiated at the U19 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006 and Malaysia in 2008.
