Photos: Bermuda KiteFest At Horseshoe Bay

Bermuda’s Good Friday KiteFest Celebration is underway today [April 3] at Horseshoe Bay Beach, with a mix of local entertainment, kite and fishcake making contests, and games and prizes on hand.

Chewstick said, “Having stewarded the event for the past four years, The Chewstick Foundation is grateful to title sponsors Logic Communications and the Bermuda Tourism Authority as they further their mission to bring people together in the spirit of goodwill and cultural enrichment.”

“They are proud to host the Kite making competition with categories ranging from Best Boxy [Fennel Sticks], Biggest Kite, Smallest Kite, Best Traditional Kite, Ugliest Kite and more.”

The day’s schedule saw a welcome and DJ at 11.00am, with registration for the kite and fishcake-making contests open at 12.00pm. An Easter egg hunt took place beginning at 1.00pm, with live performances also getting underway. A second block of live performances began at 3.00pm, leading up to the competition winners being announced at 3.30pm and Wacky Races at 4.00pm.
