Plane With Landing Gear Concerns Lands Safely

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] responded to the LF Wade International Airport this afternoon [July 10] after the pilot on an incoming flight requested the inspection of the aircraft’s landing gear, having concerns that there may have been some damage to it on take off.

BFRS Media Relations Officer Sergeant Russann Francis said, “At 1:52pm today July 10, 2016, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the L. F. Wade International Airport to inspect the landing gear of a Challenger aircraft after receiving a call that there may have been some damage to it on take off.

“The flight which originated in Mexico City was scheduled to land in Bermuda and was not a diversion.

“On inspection during the low fly over, we found no visual damage to the landing gear. Once the flight landed we found there were 11 souls on board with 4500lbs of remaining fuel.

“There were no injuries and no further investigation was required.”
