PLP Women’s Caucus To Host Launch Event

March 13, 2017

The PLP will be hosting the first event of their newly formed Women’s Caucus on Saturday [March 18] from 11.00am to 1.00pm at BIU Headquarters, with all women — regardless of party membership — welcome to attend.

A spokesperson said, “On Saturday, 18th March 2017 the women of the Bermuda Progressive Labour Party [PLP] will be hosting the first event for our newly formed Women’s Caucus. The event will take place at BIU Headquarters from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

“This initial meeting will serve as an introduction to Women’s Caucus, and is open to all women, regardless of party membership. Our female parliamentarians will be in attendance, joined by members of the executive.

The live video replay of the PLP announcing the Women’s Caucus last week:

“The event will feature a structured, yet informal discussion forum for women to share ideas, express concerns and propose solutions to the issues in our society.

“Our Women’s Caucus is grounded in the grassroots. Our goal is the inclusion of all women no matter their education level, race, or political status. This is an initiative to engage all women, address issues of concern and increase female parliamentary representation.

“Children are welcome as a designated play area will be provided. Refreshments will also be served. You may email women@plp.bm with any queries.”
