British Navy Patrol Vessel Berths In Bermuda

British Royal Navy offshore patrol vessel HMS Medway arrived in Bermuda yesterday [Feb 5], berthing in Hamilton.

According to the Department Of Marine & Ports Service weekly shipping schedule, the vessel is here for ‘R&R’.

The current mission of the vessel – which weighs 2,000 tonnes and is 90.5 metres [297 feet] long – is described by the Royal Navy website by saying, “From drug busting to disaster relief, Atlantic Patrol Tasking [North] centres on providing humanitarian and disaster relief during the main hurricane season [June to November] and deterring drug traffickers as part of the wider international effort.”
