10 Videos: Bermuda International Film Festival

Scroll down to watch ten previews of films screening at the 2010 Bermuda International Film Festival starts this Friday – March 19, and runs until March 25. The annual festival will be showing a variety of films from around the world.

Henri-Georges Clouzot’s The Inferno is showing at Specialty on Friday March 19 at 6:30pm and again at Speciality on March 22 at 1pm. It tells the strange fate of what might have become a major French film of the 1960′s.

Pierre Laffargue’s ‘Black’ is showing at Liberty Theatre on March 19 at 6:30pm and again on March 22 at 3:45pm. It is a medley of 1980′s style action, black magic and strong elements of African mysticism

A Prophet‘ is screening at Southside on March 20 at 3:30pm and again at Liberty on Mar 21 at 9pm. It tells the story of young man Malik El Djebena who is sentenced to six years in prison.

BIFF’s opening night film “9:06″ is a story about a criminal inspector investigating an unusual death case. The investigation turns into an obsession, the inspector secretly moves in the flat of the deceased, getting deeper into his life and eventually starts taking over his identity

BIFF’s closing night film “Looking for Eric” is a British film about the escape from the trials of modern life that football and its heroes can bring for its fans. The film’s cast includes former Manchester United star Eric Cantona, who is infamous for once kicking a fan in the face during a game.

BIFF is also screening “The White Ribbon” focuses on the children in a village in northern Germany just before World War I.

Fish Tank” focuses on volatile 15-year-old named Mia, who lives on an Essex council estate with her younger sister and frequently drunk mother.

‘The Art of the Steal’ follows the struggle for control of Dr. Albert C. Barnes’ 25 billion dollar collection of modern and post-impressionist art collection. In response to the film’s release, Bernard C. Watson, chairman of the Barnes Foundation board of trustees, published an editorial letter in the Philadelphia Inquirer claiming the film “lacks objectivity and perspective.

‘Streetball’ is screening at BUEI on Friday March 19 at 6:30pm. The fast paced documentary tells the stories of South Africa’s 2008 Homeless World Cup team.

‘NONAMES’ is screening at Liberty theatre on March 21 at 6:30pm and again at Speciality on March at 3:45pm. Inspired by true events, NONAMES follows Kevin and his family of friends as they struggle within the confines of a small town life.
