Accident Causes Massive Traffic Jam

April 2, 2010

Yesterday [April 1], there was a huge traffic jam in the East Broadway/Trimingham Hill area, caused by the Police service diverting traffic away from the scene of a traffic accident for approximately two hours. Cars piled up all the way to Corkscrew Hill, with traffic moving very slowly during the evening.

The road traffic collision happened on South Road in Paget near the junction with Inglewood Lane involving two motorcycles and a car. The Police say it appears that one of the motorcycles was traveling east on South Road while the car and other motorcycle were traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided.

The rider of the eastbound motorcycle, a 60 year old Devonshire man, sustained bruises to his right hand. He received treatment for his injury by EMTs at the scene.
