Guns, knives, burglaries, robberies, asssaults and murders. Is it ever going to stop? I have personally visited your beautiful island on 22 previous occasions. Never again!

While I don’t condone the recent increase in crime that has plagued the island, the fact is crime occurs everywhere. Police officers do what they can, but it won’t ever stop. Bermuda is a great island as I’m sure you are well aware of seeing as you’ve visited 22 times. I go away to school and for a long while I took what I had in Bermuda for granted. The pink-sand beaches, the crystal clear water and immaculate parks across the island were nice but I never truly appreciated what I had there. After my first semester of school, landing back on the island, being bombarded by the amount of color, and the bad at the airport was one of the best feelings ever. I think the attitudes and approachability of the majority of the people on the island are truly one of a kind. Those factors are what make Bermuda Bermuda, and help us overlook some of the not so great things that do occur.

“Seriously?” – - you are missing the point completely. Mr. Papa is a tourist – he can spend his hard-earned money wherever he wants – his choice completely!! For the past 22 years he has chosen to spend it here with us (thank you Mr. Papa) but we have instituted a Ministry of “De-Tourism” with all of this violence and filth. Heck – if I didn’t live here I sure as hell wouldn’t come here for vacation. Mr. Papa, and as we all know, MANY, MANY others have chosen to avoid this crime-ridden place with good reason. Who wants to get mugged, held up at gunpoint, shot, or robbed in a hotel room on their vacation??

Stop the Ministry of De-Tourism before we all pack up and leave with the Ex-Pats!!
