Coral Beach Club: KPMG Appointed As Receivers
Mike Morrison and Charles Thresh of KPMG Advisory Limited were today [Feb 22] appointed Joint Receivers to the Coral Beach & Tennis Club and Horizons.
Together with the mortgage holder, Swedbank AB New York Branch and their agents, the Joint Receivers are currently taking steps to find a suitable purchaser for both the Club and Horizons.
The Joint Receivers intend to continue the operations of the Club without interruption, and will continue to work with Club management, employees and suppliers to ensure as little change as possible throughout this period.
Commenting on the implications of the appointment for Club Members, Charles Thresh said: “We understand that the past year has been a time of uncertainty for the Club. It is our hope that a new purchaser will be able to provide a prosperous future for the Club.”

Another UBP/OBA enclave bites the dust .
What a stupid response. Guess you don’t care about the folks that work there or the fact that maybe this represents new investment and new jobs.
He’s actually couching a racist comment in a political cloak…
Pretty obvious what he really means.
Pathetic – but typical of the divisive seeds sown for the past 14 years yielding fruit.
Divisive seeds weren’t just sown in the last 14 years, guess you don’t know the history of this island.
so maybe it’s time to throw those seeds away
Hello?! Although I don’t agree with JP’s comment, it’s amazing how certain posters comments can actually tell you the race of the person. The past 14yrs? Like are you Kidding me?
M.P. MOUNTBATTEN JP obviously you know squat. Everyone point and laugh at him. There’s a good chance this place will rise again.
No such thing, face reality. the good old days are goone. Bermuda is runined. M.P. Mounbatten JP knows more than you.
So sad to see the demise of Coral Beach, Horizons & don’t forget Waterloo. In Bermudas heyday they attracted the cream of the Islands tourism crop. One couple staying in these places contributed more than 20 cruise ship passengers. They took the trouble to get to know the staff by name & the mostly Bermudian staff gave great service.
But sadly that was another era, an era when service was given with a smile & a service job was an honourable job. We chased those wealthy visitors away with out attitudes. Just like IB they don’t need us, we need them. They won’t be back anytime soon. Too many enclaves for the wealthy have sprung up giving the service Bermuda used to be known for.
