If the speed limit in Bermuda is so low, and modern cars have excellent safety devices built-in, then surely there has to be a question of the skill levels of drivers in Bermuda.

When I passed my test, I thought I was in a pretend world. I mean really, park a car between two bollards, drive around for half an hour with some guy talking about island life and Michael Douglas, back to the center, pay your fee, picture taken, shiny driving licence.

What’s forgotten is that you are now in charge of a mobile missile. It takes skill behind the wheel to drive a vehicle. Low skill levels = dangerous drivers on tight roads = accidents like this one…..

Instead of assuming that you are a total a%^&ole, I will assume that you are stupid and did not read ALL 4 SENTENCES in the article.

No one cares how you did on your driving test – UNLESS YOU PASSED IT WHILE HAVING A SEIZURE OR HEART ATTACK!

      Some people are such idiots.

    • Vicki Medeiros says:

What an ignorant comment – if you bothered to read the caption it stated someone may have suffered a medical emergency … hope they are okay.

    • Rea W says:

Ok you got the attention that you desperately wanted

It’s a bit mean to blame this on speed and lack of driving skills when the report says:

“Unofficial reports from the scene indicate the collision may have occurred as the driver may have suffered some form of a medical emergency while driving.”

You mustn’t be so quick to judge. I see these accidents and initially I think the same as a lot of people, but just take your time before you comment and give your opinion. Because you don’t know – but it could be your friend, or a friend of a friend, or a family member and you just haven’t heard yet. These are peoples sons, fathers, daughters, mothers, sisters and brothers… and everyone just comments such negative and horrible things ripping them to shreds before the news even has time to publish what really happened. Think before you speak… and just how you would do onto others as you would have done unto you, speak to others how you would have them speak to you. Put yourself in their position, the position of their families. We can’t always assume we know what happened and we can’t assume we know what goes on in that car or during that accident.

I agree that speed and driving skills are an issue in Bermuda… but I can’t stand that people just blurt all these things out on Bernews before they actually find out whats happened. Go to your minister if you really wanna bring these issues up. But lets face it, noone is oblivious of the fact that people go too fast and cant drive.

  3. Oh no says:

Oh no. Praying that everyone is ok.

  4. We See Behind The Curtain Fahy... says:

No no! I was not speeding – or on the phone – or doing my make-up…just driving along then…I don’t know. I was feeling Ill and then – maybe so this remains to be seen

Seriously you (other) a holes out there on the roads slow the hell down – the world would be a better place with out you but you might take someone else who actually likes to be here with you. – jerks.

And @ the road to hell – do not try to belittle our road examinations because I poassed my test in the US without studying – I had previously earned a Military liscence so the civilian test was cake. But by driver droaned on and on about his honeymoon in (guess where?) Bermuda! and had me stop at a Wendy’s because he was hungey. So what is your point punk?

    • check again says:

Where did you pass, or should I say fail, your spelling test?

  5. We See Behind The Curtain Fahy... says:

Before you blast me I said “maybe so this remains to be seen” – as the report says the driver “MAY” have suffered some form of medical emergency…

But @ road to hell…go there will you? You seem to have the path laid out at your feet guy.

  6. Erica says:

So typical of people that post….read the headline and assume you know the story and then POST some silly unnecessary comments that could cause more harm than good…..I truly hope that the person that may have had the medical emergency is ok.

  7. Islander says:

One should wait for the update to save comments being flung at you from all sides. Let us try our best to quit the name calling – remember school students also read our comments.

  8. Prayers for the driver and that their health issue is not life threatning, you can replace a car any day but a life is precious and can not be replaced.

praying and hoping for full recovery

  9. A photog says:

the driver of the car was elderly, I was there, and if you look carefully you can see that he was using the cars spare tire when he lost control it looks as if he panicked from brake failure and lost control of the car this had nothing to do with him speeding.

  10. hrmmmm says:

o dear. i wish the driver well and hopefully we get some insight as to what really happened.

  11. Retarderd says:
