Romans 13:9 Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal,

Now which church service did you little punk boys attend? I assume it wasn’t good enough and thou need a flogging.

    • Victor says:

Actually, in this crime, there appears to have been none of the above – “Lone Thy Neighbour” seems more appropriate.

    • Sunday Sunday says:

Er, what has this got to do with a gang related shooting?

Does anyone go to church anymore anyway? I know I don’t, absolute horsesh*t.

The big issue here is the demise in our cultural and social being and the depressing black on black violence.

Not God, not Jesus, not fishes and loaves or a made up book, or stained glass windows the body and the blood. Just people. Now can we get on with the real issues here, no more bible passages, PLEASE.

      • Monday Morning says:

I always finding it amusing when individuals like you preach about stopping black on black crime! As someone who is , lets say, melatonin deficient, I would think that a better solution would be to teach our youth that Violence against anyone REGARDLESS OF THE COLOUR OF THEIR SKIN IS WRONG! Your words are no different than those used and advocated by the KKK or Hiltler!

Don’t agree – take your opinion and replace the words black, with white and give to someone that looks like you, and tell them that some white person placed that comment online…and watch the outrage…..I trust that wasn’t your intention to be racist and I believe I know what you meant, but the youth you are trying to reach out to may take you literally.

Like they say, the pen is mightier than the sword!

      • Tommy Chong says:

One thing I remember about my socials studies lessons was that a belief system is a big part of cultural and social being unless of course someone lives in a communist society. I don’t fully agree with religion but the main laws of morality is what sets us apart from the other animals despite all the other inessential rules religions want to tag on to separate themselves from the rest. If we were to live by a darwinistic ideology that you probably believe then what these idiots do could be justified by the laws of the wild. What’s a mob to a king? What’s a king to a God? What’s a God to a nonbeliever who doesn’t believe in anything? Someone would have to be dumb, def, blind & a monkey’s nephew to not believe in a higher existence than a human being just another animal.

  2. Prayers says:

Thank god there are no life threatening injuries! Praying for a speedy recovery amd please…no retaliation!!!

  3. Truth is killin' me... says:

    Warning shot

  4. When will it ever end says:

Unbelievable, I was just saying to myself this morning the shootings seem to have quieted down and I get home and read this. SMH

  5. Victor says:

That’s Rolfe’s hood – here’s a chance for him to mediate for real rather than waste his time launching worn out diatribes at law abiding and legitimately employed taxpayers. Wonder if he has the courage?

  6. Shotta T says:

ANOTHER DAMN SHOOTING COME ON BERMUDA WHEN ARE WE GOING TO STOP THE MADNESS……..!!!!!!!

  7. stfu says:

stfu about come one bermuda when you gonna stop the madness.. we no different from the rest of the world… we get our info from the same source

    • Nuffin but da Truth says:

you need to learn how to write so it’s makes sense!

  8. KitCat says:

As for the people asking “when will it end”- it’ll end when people stop wringing their hands and start talking to the police and not a second before. I don’t care if they’re your relatives or your friends or ya ace boy, if they’re fooling around with guns they should not be your friends and you should not be protecting them so that they can go on to hurt someone else.

    • Pickup says:

Agreed. As long as people to protect “their own” by keeping quiet – they will continue to hurt others.

If you only stand up and ask for justice when its your own family members – it is too late by then.

    • tricks are for kids says:

It will stop WHEN and IF EVER the corruption stops….

    • Tommy Chong says:

People are talking to the police mostly via crime stoppers that is but either way it has lead to the arrest of the majority of shooters involved. These tips have also lead to millions worth of drugs seized. The reason why this has not stopped anything is because prohibition still exist. All this has done is allowed new players their chance to move up in the game & justification for inflation in the price of drugs in the underground market.

Until the catalyst are addressed such as prohibition, the feeling of ostracism towards young that are neglected from birth & those young that are ostracized not shown an alternative means of finding a family & legal means of making enough money to live comfortably. This same thing started many moons ago in America & they have only started to come to their senses a little too late. How long will it take for the government of Bermuda to come to theirs?

  9. Clarification says:

It hurts my heart to see this Bermuda is not the same however the bible also says at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 in the last days critical times to deal with will be here…men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,…having no natural affection …betrayers ..headstrong.

    Sings of the last days.

  10. I See You Looking says:

It will end when these stupid women stop procreating with a$$holes who are deadbeat dads, drugs abusers and losers!
And wait until they are married and have children with decent men who will work together as a family unit to educate and encourage their children to become honourable citizens to give back to the community.

    • Tiger Lily says:

Let the truth be told that violence will never end in a society. “Honourable” parents have children who go far astray. If they ain’t killing with a gun, they killing through abortions, they killing by selling drugs. We killing people in their spirits everyday and bringing about depression everyday with your tongue. There is not one is is righteous or honourable.

      • Monday Morning says:

Yes, but Honorable parents have far fewer children that go astray!

        • Tiger Lily says:

I would say that the honurable thing would be to help those who are less fortunate in skills, finances and abilities.

    • Grizz says:

So what are u trying to say only married people have decent children. Totally assinine comment

  11. Desai Jones says:

If it ends, is the more logical approach. Personally I think its gone too far to end, and the powers that be don’t have the street smarts to begin to understand what’s going on. Family members are injuring and killing other family members. Until this situation endangers another race, I don’t feel the effort put in will be 100%.

  12. Irritated onion says:

WTH stupid fools! Come on you momma’s, grannies, special friends, dads & uncles . . . Get your boys & men under some manners as you sure don’t want to be saying good bye to them at a home going ceremony before their time or do you? Just sad.

  13. EDWIN says:

@ Victor. This is not Rolfe’s Hood it’s Craig’s Hood the whole not part not one little part, we are all one and affects us all, he has been very quiet.

  14. I See You Looking says:

@Irritated onion..I agree…it is the women that control the reigns, since it’s a matriachal society! If they are selective with the men they choose to have their children with, then perhaps we would have less incidents of this nature!

People, if you cannot afford to have children and educate them, then don’t have them at all. And to the Tiger Lily.. some of these people should ABORT, as they cannot afford to have children, if you are not able to give them education or provide them with an exposure and the opportunities that life has to offer.

This type of behaviour is so prevelant in a certain community. I do not see these types of behaviors in the white or Portuguese communities!!

    • Tommy Chong says:

“some of these people should ABORT, as they cannot afford to have children”

Should we be allowing other expats to work in Bermuda in the same predicament? Isn’t this sending a mixed message?

Charity should start at home especially with thousands unemployed & many locals living on the edge or below the poverty line. Give someone a fish & they will eat for a day, teach someone to fish…

Many have allowed the cause of the problem to happen just because it wasn’t happening to them & they were comfortable. Now all of the sudden you feel a pebble in your shoes & you want to throw them in the trash. Abortion is not cheap & in fact education is cheaper than abortion.

    • FRu*tY says:

Its not all males, sadly we have females well involved in this sick behaivor too..

  15. Peace n Blessings says:

This is a not a political debate rather black on black violence. As a community we ALL must do right, for these children are our future. If we sit silent and act iggnorant as if it’s not your child what happens when it is your child? I’m just happy to hear that another family doesn’t have to hurt in despair but now they will live in fear!

  16. Fikrte Ming says:

During this shooting, there were children outside in the church yard, eating and socializing. When the shots were heard they all ran inside, and were petrified. What affect will this have on them? What scars will this cause? How will they feel going to church next week? This does not only affect the shooters, their parents, families, but the whole of Bermuda, and the police have to get a grip on the situation. We cannot expect that these parents will all of a sudden do the right thing by way of their sons. To top it off, driving home yesterday along Palmetto Road, by Fat Man Cafe police officers were hunting for the shooters. Yes indeed there were 3 police officers on each side of the street all on their bikes, looking for the shooter- they were in hot conversation and did not do anything but watch the traffic go up and down. they did not stop one car or bike, now the shooter could have been in a car, or even on the bike that passed them, they did not stop cars to even let the public know that a shooting had just occured. Yes that is our police dollars going to good use. I was worried that my son who we had purposely riding in front of us, in case he was stopped, but no nothing… They rode into Dodge& got our safely with the help of our men in blue.We are not serious about stopping these shootings. It was evident to me yesterday that we are not proactive but are just in automatic mode, no sense of urgency about it at all. I do not think we need any more policemen on the streets, but a Dept with a plan. there were no road blocks set up, no stop and search, nothing that I could see. We have go to do better than this. Summer has not even set in yet and I see red in the streets if the Police do not get with a plan to curtail this activity. If they cannot do it then bring in a task force that know what to do.

    • dthtoo/ says:

      Fikrte Ming,

Craig Cannonier promised Bermuda that his OBAUBParty was going to put an END to the violence (my how they vehemently castigated and denigrated the PLP re the crime), among many other pledges, and people voted for them because of this.

It is my belief, and I’m not alone, that sure, swift and effective action will be taken by the OBAUBParty and the Police Service arm-chair revolutionaries when the targets are of a different hue – change would be immediate.

      • Zombie Apocalypse says:

Can you provide a link to that ‘promise’? I don’t recall such a promise being made. But I’m sure you can, as you remember it so clearly.

        • Tommy Chong says:

          http://www.oba.bm/images/stories/pdf/oba_miniplatformf.pdf

I do believe dismantle is the same as end just a bigger word.

Though on the other side of it the PLP had long enough to fix the problem but allowed it to escalate the problem now is that OBA has not done anything that makes it any better. Seems that a 40 year sentences & increased law enforcement funding doesn’t do anything to deter. The OBA should be putting more effort & money into education & jobs than into law enforcement & prosecution.

          • Zombie Apocalypse says:

And I think the present government sees it the same way as you…

            http://bernews.com/2013/01/public-safety-minister-on-anti-gang-measures/

Nobody can wave a magic wand and stop the idiots from acting like idiots. And they didn’t promise to “put an end to violence”, of course. (A bit like they didn’t promise to “stop using consultants”. But that’s another story…)

The PLP went in the other direction, of course. Anti-crime measures were met with “they want to lock up our people.” Ewart was very fond of his “alternatives to incarceration”. The PLP was all over the place on the issue. When there was bad news on crime, they blamed the Governor. When there was good news on crime, they took credit for how their “policies were reducing crime”…

        • FRu*tY says:

I can 2nd that they promised that, broadcast alot! And specified that gun violence would be no more. I don’t choose sides but that was a comment I felt was real silly. Intent good bu to promise, very silly..

          • Mad Dawg says:

They did not promise “end violence”. Don’t be ridiculous.

    • are they in cohoots with ps says:

I find that quite weird because if it had happen in the West its a different ball game. Something fishy about that mmmmmmmmm?

  17. Xman says:

Looks familia to me – Same area were a lot of shootings have taken place.
If our Police Commissioner was smart he would have long stationed the mobil Police unit of somthimg similar
on the area — I bet you if this Madness kept happening in Fairy Lands ,Tuckers Point,Stokes Point or Tuckers town they would have had one. —- real fast.
Quite frankly the Police have run out of ideas.

    • Tommy Chong says:

What a silly comment. Don’t you know the police don’t have the funds or resources for that? It’s not as if the OBA allocated $71 million towards the police budget this year.

      • dthtoo/ says:

Tommy Chong, it isn’t a silly comment. I suppose you have safe harbour in those areas Xman has mentioned. I concur with everything he has stated. Discrimination is very much alive in Bermuda.

        • Tommy Chong says:

Obviously you have not picked up on my sarcasm or the fact that my comment was not fact but false. This may help to clarify my sarcasm http://bernews.com/2013/02/minister-police-allocated-71-million-in-budget

This just seems to point out that the milk man should stick to more primary monetary management like dealing with milk money than dealing with a broken society. What really puzzles me is how he got the go ahead to section off the biggest portion of our budget when he isn’t even the premier. Money that would be better used in education to stop the cycle then again most who you pointed out living in the areas you pointed don’t send their kids to public schools. It’s just like the 1930′s to 1990s American Drug War logic of put them all in prison & the problem will go away. Someone needs to explain to the milk man that America lost that war long ago & to not let history repeat in his & our country.

          • Zombie Apocalypse says:

Um, some actual facts might help…

The Police budget is $71m, but that isn’t “the biggest portion of our budget”. You suggest spending money on education. Well, Education is allocated $121m in the budget. In addition, the Ministry of Community and Cultural Development is allocated $86m.

    • dthtoo/ says:

Xman, I couldn’t agree with you more. As I mentioned to Fikrte Ming, sure, swift and effective action will be taken by the OBAUBParty and the Police Service arm-chair revolutionaries when the targets are of a different hue – change would be immediate.

      • Zombie Apocalypse says:

You’re still being influenced by those strange invisible forces on the roads, I take it?

  18. watchfuleyes says:

Yes, he did promise that the violence would cease when the OBA came into power, in fact his exact words were ” not on my watch”, and on his watch we have had even more violence with no let up, and with the police just watching from their bikes, with no fresh ideas or solutions. Of course they can ask the public for assistance but listen it is not my place to do their job for them! It is time for the police Commissioner and OBA to admit that they have no clue and just call for back-up (pun intended) from overseas. The problem lies with the squarely on the shoulder of the Governor, who overseas the Police department, so he should be held accountable, or be sent packing, I mean what is he getting paid for?

  19. smh says:

how about you all just close the “books” and open your minds.. then MAYBE you will see this “change” you all are “praying” for..
