    ……they’re still partying!

    • Color Blind says:

The premier was in the photos also, hmm guess you didn’t know who he was since he’s not the same color as you!

    • Mazumbo says:

If you didn’t realize black people party for Divorce, Birthdays, Deaths, caught for speeding ,Weddings , getting a job, getting fired , etc ,etc so what’s ya problem. Labour Day was started when a few committed soldiers faithfully marched from St.Georges to B.I.U headquarters for 10 years until it became an official holiday September 6 1982 (sounds a bit like how we got Cup Match) LMAO

  2. CBA says:

Ya, while the working people can’t afford bills these guys are living it up. They wonder why they lost their support base.

    • shutdbleepup! says:

I’m assuming you mean Craig Cannonier as well stupid!!

      • CBA says:

He’s the Premier of the country, so of course he is going to attend! What I don’t see is the OBA spending lavishly on these events like the former government with every MP in attendance. Don’t worry you will see the effects of a competent government within a couple years when the island is back up and running well.

  3. Truth is killin' me... says:

Those gin and tonics they’re drinking…$8 a pop at least. Let me go pay my Belco bill now!

  4. only in Bermuda says:

Take a break. Just because you don’t get invited to the OBA’s sets don’t take it out on them. Did anybody tell you that in order to have a successful government you need a strong opposition? Get over it.

  5. RME says:

Did you notice your Premier was “partying” along with them? Give me a break you lot!

    • Triangle Drifter says:

I would hope so. Out of courtesy both the Premier & Labour Minister & guests should have comp tickets.

  6. SoMuchMore says:

should’a could’a but that money into education or something more appealing and worthwhile to the community, but nah not these people. as long as they get their fancy on, everything is quite alright.

    just sad.

  7. Triangle Drifter says:

Any construction workers, any KEMH laundry staff, any hotel housekeeping staff, any trash collectors, you know, any of the folks who pay the dues there? Just wondering.

  8. Chris Famous says:

    Silly comments on here

The patrons who attend the event pay for their own tickets. That money covers the costs of the event.

All of Bermuda benefits from the stuff unions have fought hard for yet part of Bermuda runs down every union

Well tell you what lets take away what the unions worked for

    maternity leave
    sick pay
    vacation pay
    vacation
    40 hour weeks
    job security
    paternity leave
    etc etc

Then let us know if management would have ever given the workers of Bermuda those rights.

    • Sandy Bottom says:

How have unions helped job security? The only thing that kreps a job secure is the existence of an economic need for the employee. How have unions helped in that regard?

      • Mazumbo says:

Seems like you have a serious problem with Unions, maybe Unions have not helped with job security but it has helped workers with benefits for generations when employer’s refused to treat them with respect and civil compassion , but every generation has a segment of people who want to eradicate a movement that was founded on struggle and resistance. In other words there would always be UNION BUSTERS. lmao

  9. Errin Butterfield says:

This is a union labour banquet not a government or opposition event. Anybody that has a ticket (paid for or complimentary) can attend, this includes government and/or opposition officials. PlP officials and/or their members traditionally attend this annual event.I think it is encouraging to see the leader of The OBA/ Premier of Bermuda in attendance.
