MSA Academy High School Diploma Success
Mount Saint Agnes Academy [MSA] has announced that 97 percent of its graduating class has received the Alberta High School Diploma. The 2013 graduates are the first to receive the internationally recognized diploma.
Speaking of the achievement, Principal Sue Moench said this was a “monumental moment in MSA’s history.” After only four years since adopting the rigorous curriculum, earlier this year MSA announced its accreditation from Alberta Education, whose education system is recognized internationally as one of the best learning systems in the world.
Out of the 65 countries participating in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development [OECD] Programme for International Student assessment [PISA] held since 2000, students in the Alberta Programs of Study have placed among the top academic performers in math, science, and reading.
“The results speak not only to the dedication and focus of our students, who have embraced an entirely new approach to learning, but also to our Faculty, Staff, and Board who have worked diligently to ensure the implementation of this world class curriculum,” said Ms. Moench.
“We are looking forward to continued success as the elementary and middle school students progress through our new curriculum,” said the principal. “The student-centered, inquiry-based approach fosters critical thinking and problem solving, which are necessary skills in today’s society.”

@The Skink – just glad the students and teachers hard work paid off!! But I know personally that it was quite stressful for some of the students and their parents.

@The Skink – it looks as though @Making a Difference has done “the homework” for you! It is quite clear to me that Canada’s average is pulled up because of Alberta’s results. It is equally clear that when you separate Alberta’s results from Canada’s results, it is one of the leading education curriculums in the world. Well done MSA students!!!!!
