This is no ones fault but I would not want to be a TN Tatem parent today!! School is CLOSED, OPEN and now CLOSED!!

Hopefully the children can be easily organised and stay out of trouble for the rest of the day.

  2. SoMuchMore says:

okay someone confess, who cut the line? Lol

  3. watching says:

Plus they already missed Friday. A very inconsistent start to the school year, however I agree that this isn’t anyone in particular’s fault.

  4. Stop Complaining for 1 Sec says:

Maybe its time that the ministries look into installing generators at the largest family of schools in each district. Thus in times like these, the children could gather and transported to that school for the day.

Could also serve double duty, should the school be needed as a shelter.

    • Opinions Matter says:

That is a really good idea! A good way to incorporate the schools into the Emergency Plan.

    • Johnboy says:

That is a good idea. However that would be quite a lot of extra students.

  5. watching says:

Is it true that Dellwood is closed now as well?

  6. Mazumbo says:

Um surprised no one blamed de PLP yet!!!!!! LMAO

    • leron says:

Probably because there’s no-one else around as bent out of shape as you. LMAO ! !

    • Mike Hind says:

Nah. Unlike you, most folks only blame them for stuff they actually did.

  7. Youngster says:

Its not generators that are needed. Following any Tropical Storm/Hurricane a deployment team needs to be sent to facilities like schools to do a quick maintenance facility check prior to the determiniaton of class being resumed. This should be standard procedure in the disaster management world and the funding is provided by whichever entity does emergency management. All buildings that are owned by the taxpayer should be inspected for that matter, but schools should be high priority.

  8. Stop Complaining for 1 Sec says:

    @ Youngster

The point i was making that with BELCO being the ONLY compnay to provide electricity to the entire island. Having a Generator at the largest schools in each district, would allow ( if need be ) the students ( should school be in ) a place to go and be supervised when their parents have to go work and even elderly persons, should they be alone and have no where else to turn.

Even New Orleans used the Superdome a few years back. I am not trying to reinvent the wheel, just seems logical

  9. Disgraceful says:

I have a sibling who goes to TNT and he said his year group were crowded within a small room waiting for a reply as to rather they’re staying or not! He was in a room with no AC, no lights and the doors were closed! He said the majority of his classmates were feeling discomfort and claustrophobic! By time my mother got the call for her to pick him up he was drenched in sweat. My mother was outraged at how poorly the situation was handled! Seriously pick up your game TNT, you’re already off to a bad start!

    • Bring on the big boys says:

” He was in a room with no AC, no lights and the doors were closed!”
Aside from the door being closed these are the normal conditions during a power outage. What do you suggest they do? or where should they put the children when its raining. Careful how you answer keep in mind no rooms have a/c or lights…..hmmmm

    • Jhookem says:

Sorry to say, but was not the situation @ TNT, all the student were kept out of the rain in front of the school. Students that were wet didn’t follow instructions and were out playing in the rain. Don’t blame the staff for this, instead call the Minister of Education and let him know your displeasure with how the ministry didn’t send out teams to inspect the building before opening the school.

Hello…good morning. . .haven’t seen any updates….. Is Dellwood back open??
