56 Year Old Fined After Cocaine Found In Shoe

A 56 year old man was today [June 27] fined after being convicted of possessing a controlled substance.

In February 2014, Alexander Ming was taken to Hamilton Police Station after being picked up on another matter, where the police found a white powder located in a twist in his shoe.

The Court heard that he told the police the powder was “his medicine”, however in Court today Mr. Ming admitted that the police evidence that the powder was 0.8 grams of cocaine was correct, and pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a controlled substance.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner fined Mr Ming $500.
