Football U/17: Bermuda Defeat Bahamas 4-0
The Bermuda U/17 football team started the Caribbean Football Union Under 17 World Cup Qualifiers in a big way, romping to a 4-0 victory last night [July 23] against the hosts Bahamas.
Bermuda’s starting line up was Ajai Daniels, Azende Furbert, Tahzeiko Harris, Jason Symonds, Jerome Bailey, Milan Butterfield, Amar Lewis, Jahkari Furbert, Osagi Bascome, Oneko Lowe and Judah Chapman; while the substitutes were Llneiko Millett, Ahria Simons, Macquille Walker, William Spencer, Aaron Burgess, Nathan Trott, and Jomei Bean-Lindo.
Bermuda opened the match attacking, and eight minutes into the match Bermuda won a corner. The opening goal came in the 42nd minute when Jerome Bailey scored to give Bermuda a 1 – 0 lead, a lead they would hold at the half time break.
Six minutes into the second half, Bailey struck again, firing a rocket from 30 yards out to score his second goal of the game to give Bermuda a 2 – 0 lead, and in the 75th minute Osagi Bascome converted a penalty to give Bermuda the 3 – 0 lead.
Bermuda then added the proverbial icing on the cake, with Butterfield scoring in injury time [90+3] to give Bermuda the 4-0 victory.
