Quarry Lane Warwick Brush Fire Extinguished
[Updated] The Bermuda Fire Service responded to a brush fire at approximately 1.15pm this afternoon [Feb 2] on Quarry Lane in Warwick with four vehicles and approximately twelve personnel attending the scene.
An area of brush approximately fifty feet by one hundred feet was involved and fire fighters took approximately thirty minutes to extinguish the blaze and wet the area down. A nearby fuel tank and pump unit raised the concern of onlookers, but was not affected by the blaze.

Update 6.03pm: The BFRS said, “At approximately 1:15 pm today, Monday February 2nd, 2015, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a brush fire near Quarry Lane in Warwick.
Fire Service spokesperson Sergeant Russann Francis said, “The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the fire with three fire vehicles and 10 firefighters.
“On their arrival they discovered the blaze burning quickly through a large area of brush approximately 100’ x 50’. Firefighters extinguished the flames while wearing breathing apparatus within half hour using 1 ½” hose lines and over 2,000 gallons of water.”
“The fire crew remained on scene extinguishing all hot-spots with the aim of preventing potential re-ignition.
