Sunday April 12th: “Good News” Spotlight
Bermuda’s impressive showing at the Carifta Games, which saw the island net some 27 swimming and track & field medals, Mark Anderson’s cross-island walk for a good cause, and footballer Rai Simons signing a professional contract with Chesterfield FC were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In addition, Nahki Wells notched a goal against Ipswich Town, Tyler Butterfield placed third in Ironman Brazil, Alex Cooper was named SAA Player of the Week, Dr. Ayesha Peets Talbot gained certification in obesity medicine, and the Colonial Group is offering a $25,000 scholarship.
We also posted various community videos and photo galleries, including coverage of the FEI Equestrian World Jumping Challenge, the CellOne Basketball League semi-finals, a visit to St. George’s by a $21 million luxury yacht, the Senior & Middle Schools Art Show, and Good Friday events across the island.
Other photo galleries include Gilbert Institute’s Hat Parade, Masters Knockout Football semi-finals, women’s field hockey, the Bermuda Health Expo At City Hall, Age Concern’s ‘Duel of Ages,’ UFC Champion Mark Hominick’s visit to CedarBridge Academy, and the arrival of the Seven Seas Navigator cruise ship.
