Jeremy Pinchin, Chief Executive Officer, Hiscox Bermuda said, “Hiscox delighted to be sponsoring the Under 11 cricket league for the tenth year. The celebrity cricket day is a day the players all look forward to. The support of so many senior island figures in giving up their time to support the cricketers is part of making the day so special and sets an example to our future leaders some of whom we hope will come from these fantastic young players.”
Lloyd Fray, President of the Bermuda Cricket Board, stated, “The 7th annual Hiscox Celebrity Cricket Festival starts with the Hiscox 11&Under Skills and Drills Tournament in which over 100 Bermuda 11&Under players take part. This competition tests both the skill level of both individual players and teams. The BCB uses the results to assist with national selection as results are a good measure of technical ability.
“The BCB provided the opportunity for all youth league coaches to attend a coaching session in which the skills and drills were demonstrated. They also received coaching packs, training plans and guidelines to assist them with training during the season. This is part of the BCB’s continued efforts to establish standards for coaching and to improve the overall level of cricket on the island.”
Mr. Fray continued, “I would like to take this time to thank Hiscox and all the supporters of the event including Barritts, Goslings, Undercover Tent Rentals, all our raffle sponsors and promoters. This is a great day out for the family and I would like to encourage everyone to come out to support our 11&Under boys and girls take on the Celebrities.”
Mr. Fray is correct, this is a great day out for the family so why a Sunday. It has always been on Saturday.
I believe there is a rugby event with a overseas team at NSC on saturday.
Good question, maybe there’s a conflicting event happening on the Saturday?
Either way, it’s a great event and the U11 kids always enjoy it, so everyone should stop on by and support the young boys and girls who’re participating, as well as the volunteers and sponsors.
to the selected U11 youth team trusting it is a beautiful day enjoy the game and do your best
