Sunday May 22nd: “Good News” Spotlight
Bermuda College hosting their 2016 graduation, junior riders taking to their bikes to support Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy, and seven high school students were rewarded with Logic’s Community Service Award were some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In other good news, the Canadian U/18 Swim Team trained and competed on the island over the weekend, Bermudian Wushu coaches Garon Wilkinson and Sentwali Woolridge hosted a workshop in Barbados, and Digicel Business became the official telecoms partner for sailor Ceci Wollmann, who is set to represent Bermuda at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Additional good news included Bermudian Jah-Nhai Perinchief being named Field Athlete of the Year, Bermuda Scouts celebrating their annual island-wide jamboree, Fox News Travel calling Bermuda “the most rad beach vacation ever,” and the International Women’s Club donating $6,000 to WindReach.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the 2016 Commencement at Bermuda College, the BVA Corporate Volleyball Tournament, a group of yachts sailing under the flags of many different nations leaving Bermuda, and the Heritage Showcase in Dockyard.
