Court: Change Of Lawyer In $8.5M Heroin Case
[Written by Don Burgess]
A man accused of being involved with Bermuda’s “biggest heroin seizure” again switched lawyers.
In September 2017, Josef Vleck, from the Czech Republic, is alleged to have been caught with nearly three kilograms of heroin, worth approximately $8.5 million.
In Supreme Court, he requested and was granted a change of lawyers from Victoria Greening to Liz Christopher. Charles Richardson initially represented him.
He has yet to go to trial as the case as also been plagued by a language barrier. Mr Vleck speaks limited English. There was no interpreter in court on Friday when he requested the change, which has been a common occurrence for his court appearances.
