Golf: Kenny Leseur Jr Rockets Up Leaderboard
Bermuda’s Kenny Leseur Jr. carded his first sub par round in an overseas golf tournament with an outstanding 71 [-1], the fifth lowest score of the 70 juniors competing in the final round.
Kenny’s final round 71 [-1] featured 3 birdies, two bogies & 13 pars and he vaulted up the leaderboard to finish the tournament tied 23rd out of the field of 140.
Kenny Jr. stated, “ I am pleased with my round, especially as this is my first sub par score overseas. The first day was tough, the airline lost my clubs for a few days, thankfully we eventually got them.”
Kim Swan, Port Royal Golf Developmental Teaching Pro stated, “This is a great finish by Kenny Jr. and another demonstration of his talent against world class talent.”
“Kenny Jr’s strong finish and climb up the leaderboard from 88th to 23rd is testament to his resilience and ability.”
Mr Swan added, “Tt is important to note that Kenny Jr. finished 10 strokes out of first place, in spite of disappointing first round which was 10 strokes higher than his final round.”
“Thanks to Chris Brough of the Bermuda Junior Bermuda Junior Golf Association for selecting Kenny Leseur Jr since he was 11-years-old to represent Bermuda. Additionally, thanks to the Bermuda Government [Youth & Sport] who have also sponsored Kenny Leseur Jr to participate in preparation tournaments.”
