Video: Sunday July 14th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Bermuda won multiple medals at the Island Games, Madison Sidney Virgil Quig and Kiara Virgil-Wainwright received scholarships from the Chubb Charitable Foundation, Bermuda Pacers Track Club athletes won medals at the Flying Angels International Age Class Track & Field Championships in Toronto, Heather Nova released her new album ‘Pearl’, and Nicky Gurret and Camille Chin-Gurret are set to compete at the World Flower Show in India were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Osagi Bascome scored for Darlington Town, the National Jump Rope Team won multiple medals in Norway, Zane DeSilva donated $50,000 to the Bermuda Gold Cup football team, Bermuda swimmers won multiple medals at the CCCAN Swimming Championships in Barbados, Go-Float Bermuda is offering electric boat excursions in a two-seater watercraft, several students are getting set to participate in a debate in Europe, and 24 young women completed the ‘She Leads: A Real World Readiness Programme.’
Other good news stories included Cheri Minors being recognised in the 2019 Citywealth Future Leaders Top 100, Royal Bermuda Regiment Junior Leaders marked the end of their annual training camp, BELCO maintained its ISO 14001 Certification, and the National Museum of Bermuda Dockyard Clock is chiming again.
