January 30, 2020

The U.S. Consulate will host a second Voter Registration drive on Friday [Jan 31] at the Washington Mall from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

A spokesperson said, “The U.S. Consulate General in Bermuda would like to invite all U.S. citizens to register to vote for the upcoming 2020 primary and general elections.

“On Friday, January 31, 2020, the U.S. Consulate will host another Voter Registration Drive at the Washington Mall, Reid Street entrance from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm. Stop by to register to vote and request an absentee ballot where Consulate staff will available to assist.

“Americans throughout the United States and around the world are encouraged to exercise their most basic right – the right to vote. Please note that some states require your full Social Security number to complete the application. Before the event, check your state’s identification requirements in the Voting Assistance Guide on FVAP.gov. No identification is required at the time of the event.

“The FPCA is the primary method of communication between you and your state election officials. It allows you to apply to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, and/or update your contact information with your local election office. Whether you are a first-time voter or have voted absentee in past elections, you must complete the FPCA to receive your 2020 ballot.

“For more information about voter registration, please visit FVAP.gov, call 1-800-438-VOTE, or email vote@fvap.gov. Questions about the U.S. Consulate event and/or general voter registration information can also be directed to the U.S. Consulate at hamiltonconsulate@state.gov.”
