‘Non-Elite’ Football Suspended In England
The English Football Association provided an update for ‘non-elite’ football in England following the UK Government’s announcement on new national Covid-19 restrictions that will be in place from Thursday, November 5th, 2020 until Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020.
They said that no men’s teams in leagues below National Leagues North or South will be able to train or play and women’s competitions below the second-tier Championship are also suspended.
The restrictions also apply to all youth and indoor teams, but lower-league sides can play in the FA Cup. ’Non-elite’ teams in this weekend’s FA Cup first round will play and train under ‘elite’ conditions for as long as they remain in the competition.
This includes fixtures & training for:
- Men’s Steps 3-6 & NLS Feeder Leagues
- Women’s Tiers 3-7
- All youth & adult outdoor & indoor football
This impacts Bermudian footballers and their teams including Knory Scott and his Hastings United teammates, J’Nai Butterfield-Steede and his Kendal Town Football Club teammates, Kole Hall and his Radcliffe Football Club teammates, Ayleal Dill and his Ilkeston teammates, D’Andre Wainwright and his Billingham Synthonia teammates, T’ai Williams and his Deeping Rangers teammates, Keunna Dill and her Norwich City Women’s Football teammates, K’Shaela Burch-Waldron and her London City Lionesses teammates, as well as Bermudian players involved in Academies across the UK.
