Results: First & Premier Division Football
Footballers in both the First Division and Premier Division were in action this weekend, with the Devonshire Colts, Wolves, Southampton Rangers, and St. George’s Colts all earning wins, while one match ended in a draw.
First Division
Young Men Social Club 0 Devonshire Colts 1
Devonshire Colts have put themselves in the mix for a promotion spot following their 1 – 0 win over Young Men Social Club at the Police Field.
Daniel Ball beat three defenders before slipping the ball past an advancing Young Men Social Club goalkeeper. Young Men Social Club had a chance to earn a point in stoppage time, however, the Devonshire Colts goalkeeper saved a penalty.
Wolves 2 Somerset Eagles 0
After a scoreless first half, Wolves would score twice in the second half to earn a 2 – 0 win over the Somerset Eagles at the Wellington Oval.
Marcus Ming scored in the 75th minute, and Ramsey Sagger scored the second in the 7th minute of stoppage time to earn the win.
St. David’s 0 Southampton Rangers 4
The Southampton Rangers traveled to Lord’s in St. David’s and came away with a 4 – 0 win over the host with two goals in each half.
Cardel Henry gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 31st minute, Donte Brangman doubled the lead in the 38th minute, and the Southampton Rangers held a 2 – 0 lead at the break.
Isaiah Taylor would extend the Southampton Rangers lead to 3 – 0 in the 66th minute, and then an own goal in the 74th minute earned the Southampton Rangers the 4 – 0 win.
Premier Division
X-Road’s 1 St. George’s Colts 3
The St. George’s Colts got back to winning ways with a 3 – 1 win over X-Road’s at Lord’s in St. David’s.
Drewonde Bascome scored on his debut for the St. George’s Colts giving them a 1 – 0 lead, Blaiz hall doubled the St. George’s Colts lead in the 40th minute, but X-Road’s pulled a goal back in the 44th minute when Chae Brangman scored, but the St. George’s Colts would take the 2 – 1 lead to the break.
Hall added his second goal of the game in the 69th minute to earn the St. George’s Colts the 3 – 1 win.
Devonshire Cougars 2 North Village Rams 2
The Devonshire Cougars and the North Village Rams shared the points at the Devonshire Recreation Club
The North Village Rams would have to play short a man when Jalen Harvey was shown a straight Red Card for Denying an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity, Domico Coddington gave the Devonshire Cougars the lead in the 42nd, and they took that 1 – 0 lead to the break.
Nacori Smith equalized for the North Village Rams in the 48th minute, and then Justin Bell converted from the penalty spot to give the North Village Rams the lead in the 75th minute, however that lead was short-lived as Zeiko White scored for the Devonshire Cougars to make it 2 – 2.
