Andre Lambe To Meet Lucio In Title Fight

Andre Lambe will look to win his second regional belt when he faces American Crisanto Lucio for the vacant American Boxing Organisation [ABO] welterweight title at The Shed in Dockyard on January 28.
Lambe claimed the vacant American Boxing Federation welterweight crown after defeating American Jose Ceja by a unanimous decision in October.
The Bermudian, undefeated in six professional bouts, meets another fighter with a perfect record in Lucio, who has won all five of his outings in the paid ranks.
Lucio, 23, beat southpaw Bryan Springs in his previous fight by a unanimous decision in San Antonio in March.
Lambe, also an unorthodox boxer, said he expects Lucio, who carries his Mexican heritage into the ring, to be the biggest test of his fledgling career.
“We’ve got some big things planned this year, although I’m certainly not looking past this fight,” the 27-year-old told Bernews.
“On paper, it looks like it will be my most challenging fight so far. I’m confident and have been sparring with some top guys. I know what I bring to the table.
“I’ve not yet had the chance to show people what I can do. Hopefully, he brings the best out of me.”
