Video: Sunday Jan 15th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Dage Minors won the Elite Mile race, the Berkeley Class of 1982 celebrated their 40 year reunion and donated $1.500 to a student, and the 11 recruits undergoing training in the BFRS held a car wash to raise funds in aid of PALS and the Mirrors Programme were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Taylor White won three events at a swim meet in Massachusetts, Ki-Juan Minors won his class at Southern Arches in Florida, Inside Caribbean Football named LeiLanni Nesbeth as the best female player of Bermuda in 2022, and the adult team captured first place in the CEA Regional Dressage Challenge and Bermuda’s children team claimed second place in the CEA Mini Dressage Challenge.
Other good news stories included the City of Hamilton issuing commendations to PC Carol Skerritt and PC Christopher Douglas, ABIR electing Pina Albo as its new chairperson, BELCO being awarded an Edison Electric Institute Emergency Response Award for its restoration efforts following Hurricane Fiona, and the Cool Company becoming the Bermuda Maritime Academy’s first corporate sponsor, making a $10,000 donation.
