Nahki Wells scored his tenth goal of the season after converting a penalty in added time to earn Bristol City a point away at Sunderland in the Sky Bet Championship today [February 18].
City trailed to Jack Clarke’s fine strike in the 59th minute but were awarded a penalty late on when Jay Dasilva was fouled by Alex Hume.
Wells’ goal ensured City are now unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions.
Nigel Pearson, the City manager, told BBC Radio Bristol: “It was a tough game, a really good game of football, between two really young, promising teams. As the away side, we showed a lot of courage to play our game against a good footballing side.
“We created good opportunities, and it would have been a travesty had we not got at least a point out of the game. I believe we were the better side.”
