Video: Sunday Feb 19th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Renee Lathan from the Ministry of Finance earned the Public Service Excellence Award, Bermuda was ranked number one in an article that lists “10 beach destinations for your next girls trip” on Yahoo, Love is Love BDA raised $1,500 to support a local charity, and the Smith’s Parish Council awarded scholarships to Madison Smith and Jayson Outerbridge were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Scott Barnes won the SKUSA Shifters Masters title, Jah-Nhai Perinchief won the Tyson Invitational triple jump, Eagle FC Women announced the signing of Bermuda’s Nia Christopher, Nicholas Lopes won the Equitation Class in Florida, Nathan Simons won the 400M at the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet, and Taylor Carrick and Western University won the OUA Championship.
Other good news stories included Chris West and his wife Deni Hlavinka singing in Paramount’s Super Bowl ad, Dylan Hollis getting set to release a cookbook, Randall Krebs being named as Top Trustee for 2023, MSN highlighting Bermuda as a “beautiful place,” and the release of a ‘Love Underwater’ virtual art gallery.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the annual BNT Children’s Nature Walk, Alexander Von Humboldt II visiting the island, and members of the Customs Department being recognised.
