Xahvi Deroza Named ‘Player To Watch’
Xahvi Deroza was named one of the “players to watch” at the upcoming Under-17 Concacaf Football Championship in Guatemala.
The Concacaf website said, “This Saturday the 2023 Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship in Guatemala kicks off with 20 teams in pursuit of becoming the top Men’s Under-17 national team in the Concacaf region. Here are some of the players to watch at the 2023 CMU17.”
In mentioning the Bermudian footballer, the website said, “Xahvi Deroza, Bermuda: Deroza of South Kent [USA] played a big role in Bermuda’s first place finish in their group at CMU17Q, scoring a hat trick against Saint Martin. Deroza will be a key part of Bermuda’s success in midfield.”
The organisation noted the participating teams are Mexico, United States, Costa Rica, Honduras, Canada, Panama, Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala, Curacao, Suriname, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, adding that Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua and Dominican Republic will begin the tournament in the Round of 16, having advanced directly from 2022 CMU17 Qualifying.
