Photos & Video: Kebobs On The Curve Opens
A new restaurant in Pembroke – Kebobs On The Curve — officially opened its doors on Friday [June 7], with the Gombey Warriors helping to celebrate the occasion.
Kebobs on the Curve, run by husband and wife Chris and Elaine Lima, offers Halal meats, kebobs, salads, wraps and more.
“We have Muslim friends who often say there’s nowhere for them to go out to eat in Bermuda as nowhere caters to Halal food,” Mr Lima, an underwriter, told Bernews. “They have to stay in and cook themselves.
“We decided to open an authentically Middle Eastern cuisine restaurant to cater to the halal community with a one hundred per cent halal menu.
“We’ve brought in two Moroccan chefs experienced in dealing with the flavours and halal foods. The food not only tastes great, but it’s also healthy!”
Mrs Lima, who has worked in hospitality for many years for the Island Restaurant Group, said the restaurant’s signature dishes include chicken, beef, wahoo and lamb kebobs, Turkish-style shawarma wraps, and Middle Eastern salads.
“We try and use local produce as much as possible,” she said. “Our garlic sauce seems to be our specialty right now. People want it on everything!”
She added: “We had a great grand opening with the Gombeys, who always draw the community out. We gave out tasters to the neighborhood, which has been very welcoming.”
Kebobs on the Curve is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Thursday and all day from lunchtime Friday to Sunday. The food is available for delivery on Sargasso.
