Person Injured In Two Vehicle Collision In Sandys
A collision involving motorcars occurred in Sandys today [Sept 9], with one driver sustaining injuries.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 5:50 PM on Monday 9 September 2024, police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle collision, involving motorcars on Somerset Road Sandys in the vicinity of Lantana Drive.
“Information suggest that the female driver of the motorcar which was headed west, struck a utility pool, causing the vehicle to cross into the path of an oncoming motorcar.
“The driver of the westbound motorcar has been taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time. The driver of the other vehicle was not reported to be injured.
“As a result of the collision, the road is completely blocked. Traffic is being diverted onto the railway trail at Somerset Bridge and Lantana Road whilst police and fire clear the accident scene.
“Traffic delays should be expected for at least another 45 minutes.”
