Video: Sunday Sept 1st “Good News” Spotlight

News that Bermuda’s team started competing in the Paralympic Games, U14 footballers made an excellent showing in CFU Series, Kaden Hopkins won the third stage of the Tour of Guadeloupe, Ava Chow-Blyden earned the OUTBermuda Bursary, and Dage Minors broke the Bermuda record in the outdoor mile were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news the Devonshire Parish Council awarded scholarships to Micah Hollis, Denae Burchall, Jasmin Williams and Imani Bean;.Yushae DeSilva-Andrade won her first match at the Paralympic Games, the Bermuda Squash Association’s Junior Summer Camp held Keep Bermuda Beautiful beach cleanup at John Smith’s Bay, the Bermuda Anglers Club Junior Tournament saw a record 170 participants and Kole Hall scored his first goal for Chorley.

Other good news stories included the Southampton Parish Council awarded scholarships, Nylan Tyrrell, Arhyiah Tatem, Tie’asia Allen, Roqué Roberts, Ethan Kessell, and Aniyah Paige-Paiva received their SSEP certificates, BHA awarded the Adrian Hassell Memorial Scholarships to Najee Pitt-Clarke and Jaz Ratteray-Smith, ASU BIOS welcomed 15 Bermudian students as interns for the 2024 session and the PHC Foundation awarded $30,000 in scholarships to eight students; Majesty Wilson, Kairo Lewis, Chavi Pacheco-Hill, Joshua Joseph, T’Syi Showers, Anaya Curtis, Stefan Simmons & Angelino Madeiros.
