Photos: Nazari Woods Called To Bermuda Bar
Proud family and friends looked on as Nazari Woods was called to the Bermuda Bar.
In his speech before the Court, Mr Woods, said, “My path to becoming a lawyer began after graduating from Bermuda Institute. It was there that I made the decision to pursue this career. Bermuda Institute provided me with a second chance in life and transformed my outlook on education.
“The teachers, many of whom are present in this audience today, made a significant impact on my life. Their dedication and passion for teaching instilled in me a desire to exceed expectations and strive for excellence. The lessons I learned there extend far beyond the classroom and continue to influence my life.”
Mr Woods attended the University of Kent and the University of Law, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws with Quantitative Research and completed the Legal Practice Course with a Master of Science in Law, Business, and Management.
He added: “I would like to take a moment to address the people, institutions, and experiences that have enabled me to be standing here today.
“First I would like thank Mrs Chiara Nannini for appearing on my behalf this afternoon and for proposing my call to the Bermuda Bar.
“Mrs Nannini has been a source of support during my pupillage. Her kindness, expertise, and guidance have profoundly impacted my development, and I am honoured to call her my pupil master.
“I would also like to thank Mrs Larissa Burgess, who provided supporting evidence for my admission.
“Mrs Burgess was the first person to introduce me to this wonderful industry, and her early guidance laid a vital foundation for my journey. I am forever grateful for the opportunities she has afforded me.
“To my pupil masters Robert Alexander, Karen Corless, Grace Quinn, Jonathan O’Mahoney, and Chiara Nannini thank you for the opportunity to work alongside you and for allowing me to learn and experience the diverse areas of law.
“I would also like to give a special thanks to Neil Henderson for introducing me to corporate law during my first internship with Conyers. Furthermore, I want to acknowledge Marcello Ausenda, Sophia Greeves, Jennifer Panchaud, Victor Richards, Sarah Lusher, Lisa Spencer-Arscott, and Louise Edwards.”
He added, “I would not be here today without the generous scholarships and financial support I received from my parents, Ernst & Young, The PHC Foundation, and Conyers. Their financial assistance has been instrumental in my journey.
“I hope to make a meaningful contribution to this industry, and I believe that the skills and foundation I have built will enable me to do so. This foundation was laid by my parents, Najee and Nicola Woods. From a young age, they instilled in me the values of determination, resilience, and hard work.”

Congrats Nazari!! Hard work pays off. All the best to you.
