Football Semi-Finals: Hornets & Zebras Win
The Friendship Trophy final is set, with Dandy Town Hornets and PHC Zebras emerging victorious from their respective semi-final clashes.
Dandy Town Hornets defeated Hamilton Parish 3-2 in a thrilling Friendship Trophy Semi-Final match at the PHC Stadium, and the Hornets will face PHC Zebras in the finals.
Hamilton Parish took the lead in the 22nd minute with a goal from Leroy Lewis. Dandy Town responded quickly, equalizing in the 30th minute through David Jones Jr. Nizigh Spence gave the Hornets the lead in the 65th minute.
Tomiko Goater extended Dandy Town’s lead to 3-1 in the 74th minute. Lewis scored his second goal of the match in the 78th minute to bring Hamilton Parish within one. However, Dandy Town held on to secure the victory.
PHC Zebras defeated North Village Rams 2-1 in a Friendship Trophy Semi-Final match at the Wellington Oval.
Joshua Joseph gave the Zebras the lead in the 9th minute. North Village Rams equalized in the 24th minute with a goal from Jai Bean. Enrique Russell scored the game-winning goal for PHC in the 40th minute.
Despite chances for both sides in the second half, neither team managed to score, and PHC Zebras secured their place in the final.
