Boulevard Blazers & PHC Zebras both claimed victories in the Shield & Friendship semi-finals football action.
Shield Semi-Final
Boulevard Blazers 7 Somerset Eagles 1
The Boulevard Blazers secured a spot in the shield final with a decisive 7-1 win over the Somerset Eagles at the Wellington Oval.
Ernest Trott opened the scoring for the Blazers in the 20th minute. Somerset Eagles briefly tied the game with a goal from Nathan Rego in the 33rd minute. The Blazers quickly responded with a goal from Jah Zion Talbot Thomas in the 37th minute, and Trott scored his second goal of the game just before halftime to give Boulevard a 3-1 lead.
Trott completed his hat trick in the 54th minute. Doreiko Walker increased the lead to 5-1 with a goal in the 65th minute. Thomas scored his second goal of the match in the 75th minute, and Kenfari Swan capped off the scoring with a goal in the 82nd minute.
Friendship Semi-Final
North Village Rams 1 PHC Zebras 2
PHC Zebras advanced to the friendship trophy final with a 2-1 win against the North Village Rams at Wellington Oval.
Joshua Joseph scored for the Zebras in the 9th minute. Jai Bean tied the game for the North Village Rams with a free kick in the 24th minute. Enrique Russell gave the Zebras the lead again in the 40th minute.
Neither team scored in the second half, and the Zebras won the match 2-1.
