FC Bascome Teams Begin USL Academy Cup
FC Bascome are set to compete once again in the prestigious USL Academy Cup in Tampa, Florida.
The event has changed its name to the USL Pathway Classic and has been opened to US Youth Soccer teams as well as USL clubs.
FC Bascome will be represented by a strong Under-13 roster, competing this year in the Under-14 Premier Division.
In the group stage, they will face teams from Chicago, Little Rock, and Birmingham [South Carolina], aiming to top the group and advance to the final in defenCe of last year’s championship title.
Club president Andrew Bascome expressed his confidence in the team’s preparation and mindset: “For us, the USL Pathway Classic is not only a well-run and highly competitive tournament that we’re honoUred to be invited to – it also acts as a reality check for our players and coaches.
“It helps us measure progress and pinpoint areas that need further development.
“I was very impressed with how our U13s performed last year against strong competition. Winning the division earned us a place in the Premier Division this year.
“Our players understand the challenge ahead, and they’re ready to rise to it.”
The tournament begins Thursday, April 24, with the finals scheduled for Sunday, April 27.
